General information
- A certificate of inheritance can be obtained from a notary or from the civil court of peace.
- Statutory heirs may renounce the inheritance within three months of learning of the death.
- Mediation must be attempted before a partition claim is filed.
- An heir whose reserved share has been infringed may bring a reduction claim within one year of learning of it, and in any case within ten years of the opening of the will.
